India–Germany Furniture Skills Excellence Initiative: Occupation Benchmarking, Master Trainer Development & WorldSkills

FFSC identified occupation/job-role sets as per NSQF qualifications shall be benchmarked against relevant German vocational occupations/standards.
This will be followed by a 12-month Master Trainer Development programme for 20–25 Indian trainers, combining intensive German expert-led training/immersion with continued mentoring across candidate batches.
WorldSkills Cabinet Making, Joinery and Carpentry programs-based knowledge exchange, training, competitions can be conducted.
A separate industry learning delegation on sustainability and energy-efficient building/construction technologies is also proposed.
About the company
Furniture & Fittings Skill Council (FFSC) is the Sector Skill Council for India's furniture, interiors and allied sectors under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship.
FFSC develops National Occupational Standards and Qualifications and supports industry-led training across carpentry, joinery, cabinet making, furniture production, design and installation.
It has built a network of Skill Academies and Centres of Excellence and leads India's WorldSkills participation in Cabinet Making, Joinery and Carpentry; India has secured a Medallion of Excellence in Cabinet Making.
Requirements for the training provider
FFSC seeks suitable German TVET/university/chamber partners to jointly scope and benchmark priority occupations; provide German experts for a 12-month Master Trainer Development programme; mentor Indian trainers during live candidate batches; and support WorldSkills technical exchange.
The model may include a 1-month trainer immersion in Germany and/or German expert visits to India, with 1–2 follow-up visits during the mentoring period.
FFSC also seeks partners for industry learning exchanges on sustainability and energy-efficient building/construction technologies.
