Corporate Profile
merckens development support is a training provider with two main focuses: Firstly, training for agricultural producers, processors and traders in organic and biodynamic agriculture, and secondly, training in fundraising, project development and project management for institutions and organisations working in the field of development cooperation.
- Organic and biodynamic agriculture:
o We provide training to agricultural producers who wish to convert their agricultural production to organic or biodynamic methods.
o We train employees and workers in production methods relevant to organic and biodynamic agriculture: plant care methods, fertilisation methods, compost management and preparation, disease and pest control, post-harvest treatment, agricultural product processing methods, etc.
o We train agricultural producers in the international standards required to obtain quality certificates and organic and biodynamic certification.
o We offer training in marketing strategies to prepare agricultural producers for international markets.
o We advise and train farmers, cooperatives, companies and processors in the planning and implementation of sustainable business processes in their agricultural enterprises.
- Project development:
o We provide training to development cooperation organisations on project management and strategic planning of development projects.
o We offer training in fundraising, financial management and accounting for international projects.
