Deutschland und Tunesien stärken Kooperation in der beruflichen Bildung

Tunesien und Deutschland wollen ihre Zusammenarbeit in der beruflichen Bildung vertiefen. Der Präsident Tunesiens, Kais Saied, und der deutsche Außenminister Johann Wadephul vereinbarten, die bestehende Partnerschaft unter anderem in den Bereichen Ausbildung, Beschäftigung und regionale Entwicklung weiterzuentwickeln - im Umfang von rund 100 Millionen Euro.

Tunisia, Germany agree to strengthen bilateral cooperation, partnership

Tunisian President Kais Saied on Monday met with visiting German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul to discuss bilateral relations, economic cooperation and ways to further develop their partnership, according to a statement from the Tunisian presidency.

Saied reaffirmed Tunisia's commitment to enhancing cooperation with Germany, particularly in higher education, scientific research, vocational training, energy and technological innovation.

Saied called for a review of several existing agreements, including the partnership agreement between Tunisia and the European Union.

Earlier in the day, Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohamed Ali Nafti and Wadephul co-chaired a bilateral working session.

Germany is one of Tunisia's major economic partners, according to a statement issued by the Tunisian Foreign Ministry.

Nafti reaffirmed Tunisia's commitment to creating favorable conditions to encourage more German tourists to visit his country.

The two sides signed several agreements and financing contracts worth nearly 100 million euros (about 116 million U.S. dollars), covering support for small and medium-sized enterprises, energy, environment, digital transitions, as well as regional development and employment.
