Abu Dhabi: Einrichtung einer Akademie zur Ausbildungs-Entwicklung

Seine Hoheit Scheich Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Herrscher von Abu Dhabi, hat ein Gesetz zur Einrichtung eines "Emirates College for Educational Development" herausgeben.

The President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has issued, in his capacity as the Ruler of Abu Dhabi, a law instituting the Emirates College for Educational Development.

The law stipulates that the college, to be based in Abu Dhabi, will be an autonomous body enjoying full administrative and financial independence. The college will have a right to open branches in different parts of the UAE based on recommendations from the Abu Dhabi Education Council.

The college aims at bringing academic excellence to the educational institutions by way of offering high quality training programmes and certificate courses for teachers and heads of educational institutions in the UAE, other Gulf countries and the Middle East.

The college will provide courses and certificates ranging from undergraduate to doctorate level.

A six-member board of trustees will be responsible for the running of the college and will have a tenure of three years, renewable for a similar period.

The board will have a chairman and a will hold periodic meetings. The decisions will be taken by voting and the sub-committees will be formed from among the trustees as per recommendations from the Abu Dhabi Education Council.

The board of trustees will be responsible, among other, for formulating the general policy of the college , evolving syllabi for various programmes, evaluating achievements of students and issuing certificates, issuing administrative by-laws, endorsing financial plans and appointing teaching and non teaching staff.

The college will have an annual budget, to be approved by the board of trustees.
