Corporate Profile
The SBG is a private, non-profit educational enterprise based in Dresden. Its core business is extracurricular initial VET and continuing training in natural science and environmental technology professions.
SBG trains about 520 apprentices each year for more than 120 companies in the chemical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and environmental protection sectors. Training profiles include lab assistants in chemistry, biology and physics, chemical/pharmaceutical operators and specialists in circular/waste management and water/wastewater technology. SBG also provides professional development, qualifying around 160 participants annually for programs such as Industrial Master Craftsman (Chemistry/Pharmacy). Inaddition, SBG collaborates with BAVC and the chambers on developing professional profiles and supplies examiners to the IHK Dresden.
SBG possesses 70 years of institutional experience in VET. Key competencies include designing industry-oriented VET based on the German dual system and cooperative training. The service portfolio covers initial training, upskilling for technical staff and advanced or retraining programs.
Available infrastructure includes laboratories, technical facilities, seminar rooms, a guesthouse/dormitory and a company restaurant.
In international cooperation SBG manages educational projects and adapts VET concepts to country-specific needs. Key experience includes advanced training for Chinese chemistry teachers and a GIZ project introducing the dual VET system in chemical engineering in Panjin (2017-2020). Since 2012 SBG has supported multiple Chinese partner programs, including teacher trainings in Dresden, examination system development in Jincheng and large-scale programs such as CEAIE trainings (2024 and 2025).
SBG covers specialized didactics, methodology and the development of action-oriented, industry-aligned curricula.
