Labour Ministry and German Ambassador discuss vocational training, establishing training centre and return of German companies to Libya

The Tripoli-based Minister of Labour and Rehabilitation, Al-Mahdi Al-Amin, and the Ambassador of Germany to Libya, Oliver Owcza, yesterday discussed ways of joint cooperation in the areas of vocational and professional training, and the possibility of German companies returning to resume their work in.

During the meeting held at the Ministry in Tripoli, the two parties also reviewed training programmes offered by the German Cooperation Organization (GIZ) in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour, and discussed the possibility of establishing a Libyan-German vocational training centre similar to the existing Libyan-Korean centre.

The Ministry reported that the German ambassador praised the efforts of the Ministry of Labour in absorbing job seekers, stressing its important role at this stage, and welcoming cooperation in all training fields, especially training areas on installing solar panel technologies and training women in various fields.

The German ambassador was given a tour by the Minster of the laboratories of the Libyan-Korean Centre to determine the implementation of the training programmes implemented by the centre.
