Telkomsel unveils skill-learning platform Kuncie for all

Indonesia's mobile operator Telkomsel introduced a new platform called Kuncie, a platform to acquire new skills from practitioners.

"The talent pool in Indonesia truly has a strong inclination to develop and advance the quality of life by honing itself. However, currently, supporting resources in Indonesia are still very limited," Telkomsel President Director Hendri Mulya Syam noted in a press release on Friday.

"Hence, through the Kuncie platform, Telkomsel, as the leading digital telecommunications company, strives to strengthen the ecosystem of those supporting resources to invigorate creative talents in Indonesia, so as to maximize potential in all aspects of life," Syam emphasized.

Telkomsel is a subsidiary of PT Telkom Indonesia Ltd (Persero), or known as Telkom, which is a state-owned enterprise engaged in information and communication technology (ICT) services and telecommunication networks in Indonesia.

Telkomsel collaborated with 65 practitioners and experts from various fields, inviting them to become mentors on the Kuncie platform.

Some of the mentors that provided the materials available on Kuncie comprised Gita Wirjawan, an entrepreneur; Joko Anwar, a movie director; and Raditya Dika, a content creator.

"We live in a fast-paced age. We are racing not only against time but also the advancement of digital technology. We are demanded to follow these developments if we want to survive and do not want to be left behind," Telkomsel President Commissioner Wishnutama Kusubandio said.

He stressed that honing skills and knowledge as well as learning something new from experts in their fields was one way to adapt to all the changes that existed today.

Kuncie also contains over 550 practical content from mentors, Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), and marketplaces, such as Tokopedia, Shopee, and Bukalapak to Gojek.

The platform offers private mentoring sessions that can be requested, so that discussions with mentors can be more comprehensive.

Kuncie has been present since June 7 but was introduced to the public this month. On July 7, Telkomsel noted that there were already 120 thousand Kuncie users.

The average active users per day reached three thousand and about 56 thousand users per month.

Telkomsel targeted that any social circles can use the Kuncie platform, right from students, MSMEs, content creators, writers, and cooks to beauty bloggers or those keen to start a business or make an investment.
