Beim kürzlich stattgefundenen Symposium "Education in the Sultanate – Way to the Future" wurden zahlreiche Gespräche geführt, die eine Strategie für die Bildung im Sultanat ("Oman Education 2040") hervorbringen sollen. Eine umfassende Reform des Bildungssystems wird laut dem Generalsekretär des Bildungsrats angestrebt.
Reform of education system in the pipeline
Discussions at the Symposium on Education in the Sultanate – Way to the
Future is expected to bring out the strategy for Oman Education 2040. The
strategy is looking at complete reform of the education system in Oman,
according to the Education Council's secretary-general. The details of the
strategy will be presented at the national event.
The Education Council,
since 2011, has been playing an important role in conducting research and
projects on the education process including the school system starting from
Preschool to school and Higher Education. According to the officials at the
Education Council the three day Symposium will provide a platform and an
opportunity to share knowledge and expertise with officials, specialists and
decision makers in the Sultanate to promote the Education Sector of
Oman.
Addressing a press conference, Dr Said bin Hamad al Rabie,
Secretary-General of the Education Council, said that the National Education
Symposium will review 24 educational projects which will be executed during the
next five-year development plan.
