Im Rahmen der Rio +20 Konferenz im Juni 2012 organisierte Brasilien zehn offene Online-Foren zur nachhaltigen Entwicklung. Drei von zehn Empfehlungen aus den Online-Foren beziehen sich auf Bildung und unterstreichen die Bedeutung von Bildung für nachhaltige Entwicklung.
The world votes for education for sustainable development
Three of the top ten recommendations which came out of the online Sustainable Development Dialogues underline the importance of education for sustainable development.
In the weeks leading up to the Rio+20 Conference, the Brazilian Government organized ten online dialogues on sustainable development.
Various stakeholders had the opportunity to discuss topics at such as poverty eradication, water and oceans. UNESCO provided several discussion papers as input to the discussions.
Out of these 100 recommendations, people from all over the world have now chosen the top ten recommendations by vote. Three of them are on education:
- Put education at the core of the Sustainable Development Goals Agenda
- Promote global education to eradicate poverty and achieve sustainable development
- Avoid ocean pollution by plastics through education and community collaboration
The ten recommendations that came top will be presented to Heads of State during the Rio+20 Conference, 20 – 22 June.
