Internationaler WISE-Bildungspreis der Qatar Foundation

Die Qatar Foundation hat erneut den internationalen Bildungspreis "WISE Prize for Education" ausgeschrieben. Die Nominierung geeigneter Bewerber erfolgt über die Internetseite "wiseprizeforeducation.org" bis 30. April 2011. Verliehen wird die Auszeichnung am 01. bis 03. November 2011 in Doha im Rahmen des Bildungsforums World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE).

The WISE Prize for Education

The WISE Prize for Education will reward individuals - or teams of individuals - who have made an outstanding contribution to any field or level of education.

Nominations are currently invited from institutions with a demonstrable commitment to education, such as universities, schools, colleges, teachers' organisations, research facilities, international organisations, non-governmental organisations, governments and private corporations. Some individuals of internationally high repute may also be asked to submit nominations. Self-nominations will not be accepted.

The nominees will be screened by an 11-person WISE Prize Committee which will make a pre-selection of no more than 15.

An International Jury of five distinguished individuals will consider the 15 final nominations and select a winner who will receive an award of $500,000 and a gold medal.

Nominating a Candidate

The WISE Prize for Education will reward an individual - or a team of up to six individuals working together - for their outstanding and world-class contribution to any level or area of education in any part of the world. Their work should have made a major change in the world of education and had a lasting impact on a significant scale.

Any person, acting on behalf of an institution with a demonstrable commitment to education may make a nomination by completing a Nomination Form and sending it to the WISE Prize for Education Secretariat through the website between 1 February and 30 April 2011, 23.59 GMT.

The WISE Prize International Jury

The WISE Prize Jury will be made up of internationally renowned personalities who have reached the very highest levels of achievement in their field, holding top positions and winning major awards.

They will be individuals who have proven themselves not only professionally, but also as citizens of the world, and who are concerned about education, human rights and a sustainable future for the planet.
