We offer:
Foundation course "Traditional techniques of the Arts" (2 years):
This course covers the techniques of classical art in a wide range. It is an independent training with a clear, predefined structure, which may be followed by the project study. The study program is based on the research of different forms and ways to create pictures to expand your own freedom of action with respect to art. The main focus is on drawing and painting. Among other topics sculpturing and three-dimensional work will be treated in the second study period. The program is oriented so that it brings a lot of benefits for all subsequent artistic paths, such as new media, video, photo and installation.
Basic course (6 months):
The individual program is based on a predetermined pattern, which can go both in the classical as well as in an experimental direction. The focus is on the drawing, followed by other topics individually set. This program can set a foundation for future artistic development. This course is also recommended as an orientation course. This applies to fresh school graduates and people who consider it possible to enter into art.
Project study (3 years):
The project study is an individually oriented study program. Students will be motivated on the one hand to try new media forms and on the other hand to have a strong focus on an already developed form in order to explore its complexity. Students will work closely together with the teachers of regular seminars. Here, the focus can shift from one to the other teacher if this is required by the working process. The many guest lecturers, the close contact with fellow students and the internal and public activities provide key impulses. Prerequisite for the three year project study is the six-month basic training at the KUNSTGUT or the two-year foundation course. This also applies for advanced artists.
We also offer 8-week summer academy courses.
