EvoBus production site Neu-Ulm recognised "Vocational Training Company 2011"

The bus manufacturer receives this award for its commitment in providing vocational training for young people: This includes educational partnerships with kindergartens and schools, initial qualification years, coaching for under-achieving apprentices, internships abroad at European EvoBus GmbH sites and social projects in the region.

With about 3,800 employees, the EvoBus GmbH constitutes the largest employer in the Ulm/Neu-Ulm region. In the past five years alone, the Neu-Ulm-based bus manufacturer entered into vocational training agreements with more than 350 young people and, according to its own information, has offered permanent employment contracts to the majority of apprentices. Currently, 230 young people spend their vocational training or, respectively, study period at the Neu-Ulm site.

One example of social commitment is the so-called initial qualification year at EvoBus. During such an initial qualification year, young people from difficult personal backgrounds are given the chance to gather experience within an enterprise and to prove their value in an everyday working environment. Since 2004, 47 young people have been offered a permanent employment contract at EvoBus after spending such an initial qualification year with the company.

At the Neu-Ulm production site, apprentices can choose between five different production-related occupations. In the commercial field, EvoBus offers vocational training as industrial clerk, office communication clerk, specialist for warehouse logistics and as warehouse clerk. The production site offers also study courses within the dual system, a combination of completed vocational training and university study course.
