Education and training 'Made in Germany' at Worlddidac India 2011

From 28 to 30 September 2011, some of Germany's leading companies from the fields of education and training will mark their presence at Worlddidac India in New Delhi.

With a rapidly growing economy, and the projection of about 500 million people joining India's workforce in little over a decade, appropriate support in education and training is a high priority. Germany has succesfully honed its education system to provide quality basic education as well as internationally acclaimed higher education. At the same time, the German system of vocational training equips its young workforce through a dual system of application-oriented knowledge that makes them easily employable and an asset to business.

At Worlddidac India, which is the country's largest exposition on educational supplies, training, technology and didactic material, Germany will present products and services across the entire spectrum of lifelong learning, from early childhood learning to further education, as well as vocational education and training.

Mr. Cord Meier-Klodt, Deputy Head of the German Embassy New Delhi said, "There can be an excellent synergy between India's large pool of young talent and Germany's skills in the education and vocational training sectors. Germany's system of dual training is a globally acknowledged success and we would like to offer this knowhow to India."

He added further, "The German pavilion at Worlddidac India will display a cross-section of products and services that can help India capitalise effectively on its demographic dividend."

Education and training are important areas of bilateral cooperation between Germany and India. This sector will be in special focus during the Year of Germany in India in 2011-2012, marking 60 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The German participation is presented by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi), in cooperation with the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA). It is supported by 'didacta international', which represents over 230 German companies and organisations involved in the education industry, and is one of the major forces supporting the world's largest education fair 'didacta'. Germany's International Marketing of Vocational Education (iMOVE) and the Federal Institute for Vocational Education & Training, BIBB will also be present at Worlddidac India.

iMOVE is an initiative of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. It promotes international cooperation and supports the initiation of collaborations and business relations in vocational training and continuing education.
