The European Commission adopted two initiatives that will strengthen the contribution of education and training to the EU's recovery from the coronavirus crisis, and help build a green and digital Europe.
The revised training aims to strengthen occupations in the electrical skilled trades and make them fit for the future. The creation of the new training occupation "Electronics technician for building systems integration" takes account of the requirements arising from digitalisation. The application process is now under way. This means training could be provided under the new regulation from 2021 onwards.
