CET - Center for European Trainees launched

More and more companies have recognised the benefits of an international workforce and provide training for young apprentices from southern Europe. That way, businesses offer young people from countries with high youth unemployment rates sustainable employment opportunities. The Center for European Trainees was established by the Training Institute of the Baden-Württemberg industry to support these businesses in a targeted manner.

Exchange within vocational training

The Israeli Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labour (MOITAL) and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) have been co-operating in the field of vocational education and training for 45 years. Software Technology (Beijing) Co. Ltd is to offer the company's established quality of e-learning on the Chinese market.

Each year, almost a third of all students leave university without a degree. The federal government and the crafts now want to sponsor pilot projects to facilitate access to vocational education and training for university drop-outs.

Skill Development: German Foreign Minister Steinmeier met India's Prime Minister Modi

On 8 September 2014, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi received Dr. Frank Walter Steinmeier, Foreign Minister of Germany. During the meeting, Foreign Minister Steinmeier conveyed Germany's strong desire to work together with the new Government in India to further expand and deepen bilateral relations. He welcomed India's decision to accept the invitation of Chancellor Merkel for India to participate in Hannover Messe 2015 as a partner country.

LTT and APFT Maintenance Training sign training agreement

Lufthansa Technical Training (LTT) and the APFT Maintenance Training (APFT) aviation school have signed a contract for the training of aviation technicians in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on September 23. Over a period of five years, about 400 trainees from APFT - Maintenance Training will be trained and qualified as aircraft mechanics (CAT A 1.1) according to EASA specifications.
