Training alliance between DVGW, gwi and rbv strengthened

New framework agreement raises quality standards in vocational education and training

The German Technical and Scientific Association for Gas and Water (DVGW), Gas- und Wärme-Institut Essen e.V. (Gas and Heat Institute Essen, GWI) and the Pipeline Construction Association (rbv) have a huge overlap in terms of membership and have been cooperating for many years in vocational education and training. A key feature of the alliance is the close coordination in the development of new themes, formats and training standards. The three partners have now reaffirmed and expanded their cooperation with a framework agreement.

"The new framework agreement is a further step towards raising and ensuring quality standards and represents added value for our training participants, members and also for the area of energy and water," explains Dr. Markus Lermen, head of vocational education and training at DVGW.

In the future, DVGW, GWI and rbv will also cooperate in the recognition of training centres which, on behalf of one of the three parties, run training activities for the purposes of DIN ISO 9000 et seqq. in conjunction with ISO 29990, either acting as an agent for others or on their own behalf, and also hold examinations for course participants. A standardised recognition mark is being used to identify the jointly recognized training centres. The completion and implementation of training centre recognition at an operational level is based on rules of procedure, as is the development of requirements and criteria which need to be complied with for recognition of training centres.
