Custom-fit trade qualification by way of vocational training

In its study "Education at a Glance 2011" the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) once again shed light on the educational situation in Germany.

"Even though the OECD continues to deduce a country's educational success primarily from the number of students, the special mention of vocational training and the training towards becoming a master craftsman strikes a positive impression", explains the President of the Bayerischer Handwerkstag (BHT - Bavarian Trade Association), Heinrich Traublinger, former Federal State Minister of Bavaria.

"The equal mention of study course and master craftsman training shows that these days the OECD values vocational training much more than was previously the case", says the BHT President. "We need a custom-fit qualification in line with the individual talents of the people and the requirements on part of the enterprises", stresses Traublinger. Here, the dual vocational training system and the continuing education towards master craftsmanship within the trade render outstanding results and combine theory and practice in a particularly effective manner. In the BHT President's view, this is something no university diploma can provide.
