Technology attracts girls

Since October 2010, eleven female pupils of the ninth and tenth grade have seized the opportunity to have a look into the world of technology and get to know various occupations in the technology sector at the "Girls Day Academy" of the secondary school of Immendingen. They received their certificate in a closing event on July 13.

Every Wednesday afternoon, the girls met up with their superintendent and visited different companies as well the University in Tuttlingen, carried out job application trainings and learned presentation techniques.

During the past months, five of the eleven girls have decided to follow the path of technology after receiving their general certificate of secondary education. They want to either go to a secondary school of technology or apply for an apprenticeship in the technology sector, such as product designer.
