Students get acquainted with job opportunities

Edeka is Germany's biggest training provider with 16,000 trainees in 30 different jobs. Boys and girls from a local high school had the opportunity to take part in an information event at the Erkrath branch store.

Edeka started the apprenticeship initiative "school-awards" in 2003 and the demand for this programme has increased each year. Part of this programme is to watch an information video which is followed by a presentation about the different job and promotion possibilities. A guided tour of the branch store and a smoothie workshop complete the behind-the-scenes visit. Future trainees are thus provided with adequate job orientation on site.
