German TV channel ZDF receives initiative award for vocational education and further training 2010

The initiative award recognizes outstanding achievements in the field of in-house vocational education and further training. It is awarded by the Otto-Wolff Foundation and the Federation of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce to initiatives of the business sector which contribute to an increased quality and attractiveness of in-company training.

The ZDF adapts the management of competencies to the special requirements of a public broadcasting corporation. The growing demand for modern human resources development in the media sector served as a starting-point. As a consequence of the dynamic development of electronic media, the qualification requirements und job profiles at the ZDF have undergone profound changes. The digitalisation of TV technology, consumer behaviour and the fast-growing multimedia services have strongly influenced the production processes.

"All awarded initiatives show that the business sector and training providers together attend to the needs of new generations of qualified staff and life-long learning", said Christoph Obladen, Chairman of the jury.
