International Handbook of Vocational Education and Training

The Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB) has been asked to be the caretaker publisher of the IHVET (International Handbook of Vocational Education and Training) jointly with the University of Magdeburg.

The country studies in the IHVET present the vocational education and training and the education system in the industralised countries and key threshold and developing countries on the basis of a uniform classification system.

The IHVET is recognised as a standard work of comparative vocational education and training research by researchers and vocational education and training practitioners. It is based on a network of more than 80 experts in the fields of science, administration and the practice of vocational education and training.

As a rule the country studies are written by teams of authors consisting of at least one representative of the internal view (German language area) and one representative of the external perspective.
