The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) held its 6th annual Global Skills Summit from 4 to 6 September 2013 in New Delhi, India. iMOVE featured its services at an information stand.
iMOVE at the 6th FICCI Global Skills Summit "Industry Leads"

At the Global Skills Summit (GSS), FICCI brings together experts and stakeholders from industry and government each year to discuss the issues impacting the vocational education and skills industry. FICCI has developed this summit as a platform for the global skills dialogue pertaining to India. The theme of this year's GSS was "Industry Leads".
Besides New Zealand as the Summit's country partner, other countries such as Great Britain, Australia and Germany participated in the event. Germany's representatives were present in discussion panels as well as at the exhibition stalls. iMOVE provided visitors with information regarding its scope of activities and service provision.
Inaugural Session
The Honourable Human Resource Development Minister, Dr. Pallam Raju inaugurated the 6th Global Skills Summit. In his inaugural speech he said, "We are working toward achieving the national goal of training 500 million Indians by 2020 and while doing so, we are also facing the large challenge to engage the youth of the country to participate in developing skills without inhibitions."
Further keynotes were delivered by Naina Lal Kidwai, President of FICCI and Country Head of HSBC India and Jan Handerson, High Commissioner of New Zealand to India.
Reports released
During the Summit two reports were released by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. The first report "Reaping India's promised demographic dividend - Industry in driving seat" highlights the vocational education and training scenario of India. It also outlines concrete recommendations for the respective State Skill Development and Employment Missions regarding the improvement of programme delivery. The second report was titled "India New Zealand Partnership on Skills".
The two-day event had been organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Resource Development, the Ministry of Labour and Employment, the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and New Zealand as the country partner for this year's Summit.
