Organization of a study tour to Germany for six Government officials to gain a better understanding of the German VET system
B2B opportunity | Ministry of Higher Education
In February or March 2020 (except 1-9 March), a delegation of Government officials from the Maldives would like to visit Germany for about one week. They are interested in gaining a holistic view on how Germany's VET sytem works, and learn from it to rebrand the Maldives' TVET system. They are also aiming at establishing collaborations with parties that will be able to provide technical assistance in developing the Maldives' TVET system.
The delegation would like to visit the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training, German training providers, German chambers and companies offering apprenticeship programmes.
The delegation is interested in continuing education and in how alternative pathways are promoted and managed. However, they would also like to see apprenticeship programmes and training of trainers as these are emerging areas in the Maldives, in need of development and further conceptualization. Curricula development and the design of training institutions are of great interest, followed by the supply of training equipment.
Tourism, ICT and construction are some of the areas of interest. But they are rather looking for a more general understanding of the VET System rather than for particular fields.
The Maldives' Government is aiming at establishing a vocational college system.
The participants of the delegation will be officials from the Maldives Polytechnic, the Ministry of Higher Education and the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority. One of the participants will be either the Minister or the State Minister for Higher Education.
German Training Providers who are interested in organizing the study visit should send a Letter of Intent, a draft schedule and an estimation of the costs directly to Ms Aishath Uraiba Asif. From the estimation it should be clearly identifyable what the prices for logistics, vehicles, accomodation, meals etc. would be.
