The working visit to Germany by colleagues from the three participating countries at the start of June 2019 was a resounding success and was characterised by intensive discussion between the iMOVE head office in Bonn, the iMOVE offices in China and India, the contact point in Iran as well as the German education sector and the Ministry of Education.
iMOVE's three-country conference a complete success
Over their three days in Germany, colleagues from the iMOVE offices worked through a packed programme. All meetings and discussions were conducted in a remarkably open and constructive manner. Both the programme for the day as well as informal discussions in the evenings took place in a very supportive and collegial atmosphere.
The latest from the training markets in China, India and Iran
On the first day, there was an in-depth exchange involving the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the German Office for International Cooperation in Vocational Education and Training (GOVET), and the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB).
Colleagues from the international iMOVE contact points provided the BMBF with information regarding current developments and the market situation in China, India and Iran with regards to potential cooperation in vocational education and training with German partners. The BMBF, GOVET, and the BIBB actively grasped the opportunity to benefit from the local expertise of the regional offices.
Exchange between iMOVE's head office and country offices
The second day was devoted to iMOVE internal discussion with the aim of scrutinising and, where necessary, reshaping existing processes.
This covered, for example, the requirements of the planned relaunch of the international iMOVE internet portal, the addition of a product catalogue to the Provider Database, and improvements to the B2B marketplace in order to encourage more intensive use thereof abroad. Input from the country office colleagues, who consistently use this tool in their consultancy work, provided very helpful input for the Bonn-based team.
Further issues covered on the day included the following: How can iMOVE's positioning abroad as a gateway to vocational education and training from Germany be improved? What level of advice do potential customers request and require?

Round Table and individual advice for training providers
On the third day, an iMOVE Round Table three-country conference took place involving China, India and Iran.
Following input on the current developments in the training markets of China, India and Iran, the German training providers used the opportunity to discuss their individual concerns regarding the export of their training products in the three-countries one-on-one with the heads of the external offices.
