IAK Agrar Consulting GmbH has more than 35 years of "in-house" experience in planning and implementation of advisory services in international agricultural and rural development projects as well as in Germany. Following the German re-unification and the increasing requests from East German agricultural enterprises for assistance in their privatisation and restructuring, IAK has set up in 1990 one of the first private national agricultural extension services which today offers general advisory service in all aspects related to agricultural business. IAK extension services focus on livestock, crop and horticultural production, farm management, farm development concepts, credit handling as well investment and finance planning, including business plans and feasibility studies.
Training courses and workshops for several agricultural specialists are implemented by IAK staff to disseminate new technologies and management methods.
IAK is successfully implementing and managing long-term contracts in the agricultural and rural development sector for international donor agencies (EU, World Bank, ADB, BMEL, GIZ etc.) including not only the provision of technical assistance but also the preparation of procurement and tender documents, as well as training programmes and study tours under the various donor specific regulations.
In the scope of multilateral and bilateral economic co-operation the company has undertaken challenging and innovative assignments in Asia, Eastern Europe, Africa and Latin American.
