Third German Education Prize awarded

171 applications, 19 passed audits, five awardees: this is the result of the third round of the German Education Prize competition. In Berlin, the five award winners received their prizes and the seal of excellence in education and talent management was awarded.

As in previous years, the prize was awarded in two different size categories and industry sectors; a particularly creative approach was awarded the Innovation Prize.

The 2015 awardees are Dornseif Winterdienst (category: services, small and medium-sized enterprises), Dentsu Aegis Network Germany GmbH (category: services, large enterprises), D+H Mechatronic AG (category: production, small and medium-sized enterprises), Areva GmbH (category: production, large enterprises) and Bayer AG (category: Innovation Prize).

The businesses that made it to the top this year have previously successfully completed a multi-tiered application process. After all competitors for the Education Prize submitted a comprehensive questionnaire by way of a self-assessment, the initiators of the prize chose the best eight applicants in each category. From these an advisory panel of eleven experts chose three finalists each, who were assessed in detail during a day-long audit.

The German Education Prize has been awarded annually by TÜV Süd Akademie and EuPD Research Sustainable Management since 2013. As many as 460 businesses have already taken part in the competition since the initiative's start; this year saw a record number of competitors with 171 competing companies.

The applicants' concepts are assessed on the basis of a quality model for in-house education and talent management, which was developed in co-operation with human resource and education experts from companies in different industry sectors and of varying size as well as scientists from a wide range of fields.
