Fifth Chinese Merceces-Benz training centre opened

Mercedes-Benz opened its new training centre for employees of the affiliated car dealerships in Shanghai on 22 July 2014. It is the brand's worldwide largest training centre with an annual capacity of 140,000 training man-days.

The significant improvement of the training infrastructure in China goes hand in hand with the massive expansion of the dealership network that is being expanded by 100 new dealerships in this year alone. 65 of these are located in emerging megacities, where the brand was as yet not sufficiently represented.

Towards the end of the year, Mercedes-Benz will have well over 400 dealerships throughout the country. Together with the four existing training centres in Beijing, Canton, Xi'an and Chengdu, the brand now commands a capacity in China of 220,000 training man-days a year.

In Shanghai, the future training provision will take place on 11,250 square metres using state-of-the-art equipment under realistic conditions. For example, the IT infrastructure is designed for comprehensive training courses in the entire range of sales software programmes.

The 800 square metre large training room provides space for 400 people and six vehicles. The training centre moreover features 20 multifunctional training rooms in addition to ten rooms for product trainings as well as maintenance and repair trainings on vehicles. Also, sales and service scenarios can be realistically practised in a mock car dealership that has been recreated according to the latest Mercedes-Benz sales standards and which accommodates up to three vehicles.

The trainers have been certified by Mercedes-Benz Global Training in Stuttgart, where they also receive regular advanced training.
