iMOVE attends Delhiwood International Trade Fair

Delhiwood, the 4th International Trade Fair for Furniture Production Technology, Woodworking, Machinery, Tools, Fittings, Accessories, Raw Materials and Products, took place in New Delhi in February 2015. iMOVE visited the trade fair to explore the possibilities of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) and the needs of the industry in skill development.

The highlights of the 4th trade fair Delhiwood were the exhibitions of modern woodworking technology, machines, tools, materials, and furniture hardware and accessories. There were more than 500 working machines and production lines, more than 450 exhibitors and more than 20 countries. For example there were countriy pavilions from Canada, USA, China, Turkey, Taiwan, France, Italy and Germany.

iMOVE had discussions with sector representatives as well as with training institutes. Currently, the exploration of this sector on TVET is ongoing. It is a good time to start discussions with people from this industry to create awareness for high-skilled training.
